Details of Prophet’s SAW Qiyaam: How Did He Divide His Qiyaam?

STRANGER IN THE NIGHT

taught by Sh Omar Suleiman on ILMFLIX

How did Prophet saw Divide His Qiyaam?

Allah says, “those who spent their nights in sujud and qiyam.”

Zayd ibn Khalid Al Juhani narrated that the Prophet saw when he’d stand up and pray, the first thing he’d do is pray 2 short and quick rakaah. Then he’d pray 2 rakaah that were super super super long. Then Prophet saw prayed another rakaah and they were less than the previous and the next one less and less. Then he’d observe witr till they became 13 rakaah. [Muslim]

If one of you wakes up at night then he should start his prayer with 2 quick rakaah.” [Muslim](to warm up)

Anything we do, we have warm up.

This is my notes from the ILF class Stranger In the Night, taught by Sh. Omar Suleiman. I thought I’d share my notes this way (piece meal)  on top of uploading them as 1 big file. It will also motivate me to actually finish cleaning it up in sha Allah! May it be of benefit. Ameen.
