I finally am almost done with the essay for the Mothering Across Cultures anthology. The feedbacks I have received have been very beneficial and I am now waiting for more feedbacks. Writing that essay has really opened my eyes to the matter of raising children in a different culture.
In the course of asking for critiques [...]

Writing for SISTERS
The SISTERS editorial team presented some topic assignments, and one of them led me to the topic of co-sleeping. As I read The Family Bed, with much interest, such that I actually resorted to reading on my bed, while Baby Zoa was sleeping, with only the night light as my source of light, I discovered [...]

BellaOnline Looking for Islam Editor
I found this on Resources for Muslim Writers. As I clicked on the links in that post and go over them, I really marvel at Sis Amel’s resourcefulness in finding opportunities like these, mashaallah! Solitude?
I expected things to be hectic, such that I won’t be able to write much once hubby’s ACL reconstruction surgery takes place, but I didn’t expect how agitated it’s making me feel. It’s funny how back in the good old days in school or college, when you’re faced with a deadline for an assignment, most [...]

Power to the Mothers!
Chicken Soup for the Soul is seeking stories related to Stay-at-Home and Work-from-Home Moms, with a deadline of September 1, 2008. I found the call of submission here, on the Literary Mama blog. I had trouble finding the exact call of submission on the Chicken Soup for the Soul website though. Nevertheless, the guidelines are [...]
